Century Ride – 2018

This years century (100 miles) ride will be held on Saturday 15th September and will be lead by Dave King and Pete Herron.

If you haven’t ridden this distance before the club asks that you complete one of the end of month long rides first to ensure it is within your capability.

The route will be out towards Market Harborough to our first rest stop at the Waterloo Farm Tearoom. Then proceeding down the Brampton Valley Way Cycle Route and through the old rail tunnels on our way to our towards Bedford where our second rest stop will be at the Milton Earnest Garden Center Cafe. From there we will head North up through Kimbolton and Spaldwick and back to the start. I have tried to avoid hills where possible but there is still 1000 Mtrs of accent to conquer.

The ride starts at the EARLIER than usual time of 8:00 AM from Rutland Cycles, Ham Lane, with an expected finish time of around 6:00 PM.

Front and Rear Lights: Please bring them, you will need them for the rail tunnel and maybe for the evening if we are out late.

Depending on the number of riders we may split into two opposite direction groups to avoid overloading the cafe stops.

The beautiful six miles of the Brampton Valley Way are of a loose surface and may get mucky if wet. Riders of a precious-bike nature beware!

If you plan to ride please register on 07909 924975 or via Facebook before close-of-play on Thursday 13th September.

Looking forward to seeing you all out there.
