Century Ride 2017

This year’s Century Ride will be on Saturday, 16 September.

Starting at 08:00 from Rutland Cycles in Ham Lane, the total distance will be 102 miles, with approximately 2,800ft of climbing. This is significantly less climbing than in previous years. Approximately a third of the route will be on new roads.

There will only be two café stops along the way at approximately third points. One will be at Shrub & Grub in Thorpe Latimer, near Sleaford. The second will be at the Wymondham Windmill north of Oakham, where we stopped last year. We will also be stopping on the roadside during the ride, so you will need to ensure that you have a couple of extra biscuit bars or gels with you.

If you plan to ride please register on 07756 064931 or via Facebook before close-of-play on Thursday 14th September.

100 miles in one day is a challenge. At our usual pace it will mean around eight hours in the saddle which, together with stops, translates into a full twelve hour day. For everyone’s safety and enjoyment, if you haven’t ridden with us regularly this year, we may not allow you to take part. If you want to join us on this ride and think you may fall into this category, we look forward to seeing you between now and September.
