Get lighter spokes

If you’re a cycle commuter, even in Winter then well done you! Here’s a tip to improve your side-on visibility – 3m spoke reflectors. These little reflective tubes which are thinner than a drinking straw, slide securely on to your spokes and give a massive boost to your visibility from the side, the area often missed by your front and rear lights.
You can buy them from Halfords but may find them cheaper elsewhere.

Giant Theft

One of our members had their Giant FCR Zero stolen this week. It's red with Raceblade mudguards, Dinotte lighting front and rear, and the usual saddle pack, pump, etc.
Please keep your eyes peeled and if you see this bike for sale please contact us so that we can alert the owner

Learn to fettle

Don't know your bottom bracket from your mech hanger? Then you might be intersted in the bike maintenance workshops being held in Peterborough soon.
British Cycling's maintenance workshops are delivered in partnership with Spike Taylor and his Pro Tool School. Spike has 18 years experience, and worked with the GB team for 11 years. Total Bike Repair and Maintenance magazine last year described him as “the world's best bike mechanic” – so you’ll be in safe hands.

Wild Things

Give us a kiss! On our rides we're used to the sight of magnificent Red Kites, the odd Alpaca, and loads of Llamas but the other day we came across this friendly (greedy?) donkey in Armiston.

LEJOG

Club Member, Simon has sent us this photo of himself at the start of his Lands End to JohnO'Groats ride. Simon is riding LEJOG in stages as he doesn't have time to do it one go.

Meanwhile our latest member, Krista, has just ridden the equivalent mileage of LEJOG, 874 miles, in 10 weeks, and gone from not being a cyclist to ordering a road bike!

Krista set out on her Cyclethon to raise money for the Spinal Injuries Association and achieved her target ahead of schedule while out on our ride at the weekend. Well done Krista!

Give to the SIA on behalf of Krista.
